Artist Statement

This year’s work centers on an exploration of sacred geometry as a living, emotional language rather than a fixed system. Through repetition, overlap, scale, and subtle shifts in color, I investigate how geometric forms can hold feeling—balance, tension, emergence, and quiet connection.

Rather than treating geometry as symbolic or decorative, I approach it as a structure for listening: allowing intuition, paint, and process to guide each piece. These works move between containment and release, order and atmosphere, reflecting an ongoing search for resonance rather than resolution.

Artistic Practice

Judy Challis has maintained an active studio practice since 2011, following a life-altering car accident that prompted a re-orientation toward visual art as both inquiry and expression. Her work draws on structure, intuition, and lived experience, merging disciplined investigation with emotional resonance.
